Kazakhstan in struggle for pandemic situation improvement

The pandemic situation has introduced numerous restrictions on interaction with the world. However, thanks to new technologies, there are many opportunities for cooperation with the world. Psychologists of the center for « Psychological technologies and Innovations » of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University gathered colleagues from different countries (USA, Bulgaria, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan ) and exchanged impressions, techniques, and the results of their work, which allow providing assistance to people in the conditions of the pandemic.

Non-standard restrictions, self-isolation, stimulated the problem of the meaning of life, the understanding of one’s own Self. In this regard, it was wonderful to get acquainted with the author’s biographical methods « Psychological age of the individual » and « Causometry », invented by Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Director of the Institute of Causometry LifeLook.Net (USA) Kronic Alexander Alexandrovich, allowing you to get complete information about yourself.

Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor of Moscow Regional State University Shulga Tatyana Ivanovna shared with the audience with most effective methods of online consultations

The work of children’s institutions in the context of pandemic in Bulgaria was presented by Master in psychology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Developmental and Health Psychology of “ Institute of Population and Human Research of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences of Bulgaria Maria Petrovna Trifonova.

She introduced the audience to a brain-body-action screening test that identifies and predicts problems in children’s development.

Doctor of Psychology, Professor of Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi Madalieva Z.B. shared with the problem of overcoming stereotypical thinking with negative judgments, with thoughts about an uncertain future, the stressfulness of which is quite high.

The pandemic was a time for in-depth self-knowledge, analysis of your immediate and distant surroundings, and the peculiarities of communicating with them. In this regard, Doctor of Psychology, Professor of Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi, Director of the Center for « Psychological Technologies and Innovations » Tashimova F. S. She suggested « I am like the world » introspection technique. This technique allows us to identify the positive and negative contributions of significant others represented in the inner world of a person, reflecting which from the point of view of the present moment, it is possible to form a new vision of oneself, others, stimulating understanding and forgiveness.

The ability to feel the experiences of happiness, to harmonize your inner world, even in the conditions of a pandemic, was revealed by PhD of psychology Rizulla Aidana Rizullayevna. She also suggested techniques for working with emotional intelligence that help to achieve the experience of moments of happiness. Techniques for radical forgiveness (Sultanalieva Sh.A.), touched the audience, which, already in the process of testing, were able to forgive those with whom for many years there were strained relations. Problems of family relations – one of the acute problems actualized by the pandemic, were presented by transactional analysis techniques (Rysbekova Zh. K.). Self-isolation allowed more attention to be paid to yourself, your body, in overcoming stressful situations and frustration. In this regard, the techniques of dance-movement therapy as a body-semantic resource were demonstrated by master Polyvyannaya N. V. The importance of working with the revival of the natural voice, which allows you to remove the muscle clamps of the whole body in combination with breathing techniques, made favorable changes in the emotional state of the participants of the seminar  (Tastanova A. A.). The importance of film therapy, its procedures in the process of contemplating films, which, in the conditions of the pandemic, spent a lot of time. The problem of dealing with grief at various stages of its experience, techniques of working with victims at the scene of the accident, various types of psychological assistance (information, social, support, counseling and therapy) were relevant in the context of the pandemic (Amirova B.Zh.)

The school was a lesson in the unity of theory and practice, cooperation of psychologists of young and mature ages, psychologists from near and far abroad. There was no limit to the delight of learning and communication. And the most important thing is to master the techniques of working with people in line with different areas of psychology. This is one of the initiatives that, we hope, will join in the constant experience of cooperation, in the celebration of communication and joint achievements. In June 2021, an International Summer Psychological School will be held, to which we invite all interested practice-oriented psychologists.
